Josh started tutoring his high school wrestling teammates for their SAT’s in 2010. Word spread about his students’ outstanding improvements and Josh’s tutoring practice expanded during his years at Stanford. Always one to appreciate the power of reflection in nature, he built on his Boy Scout years to lead wilderness bonding trips for incoming Stanford freshman. He trained as an Oral Communication Tutor, giving presentations on how to give presentations. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford in 2014, Josh studied the Babylonian Talmud for four years in Jerusalem.

Josh holds the title National Master from the United States Chess Federation and works with students weekly on Years of studying chess and standardized tests sparked his curiosity in the cognitive neuroscience underpinnings of how we think and learn. That led Josh to Harvard’s Mind, Brain, and Education program, where he graduated with a Master’s in 2019.

Josh is known for his patient, committed, personalized teaching style and is passionate about helping his students unlock their potential and achieve their goals. He enjoys keeping in touch with former students and teachers.
