Biography

Mike has been helping students excel in math and test preparation since 1996. A native of Airmont, New York, he earned a Mathematics degree from Cornell University and later received a tuition-free Masterโ€™s in Mathematics Education from Columbia University as a Math for America Newton Fellow. He developed and taught accelerated math curricula at The Anderson School, a public school for gifted students in Manhattan, and wrote questions for New York State Regents exams in Algebra and Geometry.

Mike tutors a wide range of standardized tests, including the SAT, ACT, SHSAT, SSAT, ISEE, Hunter Test, New York Regents Exams, IB HL Maths, AP Calculus AB & BC, AP Statistics, GRE, and GMAT. He also works with students on K-12 math, essay writing, and executive functioning skills. Many of his NYC independent school students have earned placement in honors-level math courses after working with him. Having achieved perfect scores on the SAT (all sections) and SAT Math Subject Tests, Mike has helped numerous students reach similar results. While widely regarded as a top math tutor, he is equally skilled in tutoring all sections of standardized tests, including reading comprehension, science, grammar, writing, and verbal reasoning.

Beyond tutoring, Mike leads math product development at a leading ed-tech company. His expertise enables him to quickly assess student needs, address learning gaps, and push students to excel.
