“Hey, I’m Sam! I tutor students ranging from emerging readers to adult professionals. My goal is to help everyone I teach embrace the uncertainties and challenges of learning.

I got my start in education teaching in the lower school at Saint Ann’s. After four years there, I left to tour the world with my band, a completely unreasonable decision that I don’t regret at all. Since becoming a full-time tutor, I’ve worked with hundreds of students and taught almost any topic you can think of. My specialties include SAT/ACT prep, ISEE/SSAT prep, Hunter K/FLI prep, early literacy instruction and reading enrichment, writing skills, and executive functioning. I’m also well versed in finance and economics subject matter up to the MBA level, having scored above the 90th percentile on the Level 1 CFA exam (2023).

I believe everyone learns differently, so my programs are tailored to my students’ unique goals, and my methods are always evolving to keep up with the shifting educational landscape. That said, I use simple, proven principles that apply to all learners.”
