Biography

A life long educator, Alice Keimweiss has over 30 years of experience working in New York City schools and cultural institutions. She began her professional career working in art education at the Guggenheim museum, then transitioned to elementary technology education and curriculum development at Horace Mann. For the last 15 years, Alice has worked in parent and preschool education at one of New Yorkโ€™s most prestigious early education programs. A graduate, teacher, and parent in New York independent schools, Alice has a deep understanding of the world her students are entering. Alice works closely with young children and families to help them navigate the hurdles of early childhood and school admissions. She helps guide each child to happily reach their full potential and love of learning.

Alice is a native New Yorker and graduate of The Brearley School and Northwestern University. She has both an MA and EdM from Columbia University Teachers College. In addition to her teaching, Alice is a published author, and was a regular contributor to the New York Times. She is experienced in both classroom and one-on-one teaching and approaches each child with creativity and flexibility to develop an individualized plan for that student. Alice strives to meet each childโ€™s learning style and interest through play, conversation, and carefully selected teaching tools. Alice firmly believes that children learn and perform best when they find joy in learning.

In her spare time Alice loves to bake and is currently attempting to knit. Alice and her husband are happy to be raising their four children in her favorite place – New York City.
