UPPER LEVEL ISEE PREP
NEW FOR 2020: BETTER Course STRUCTURE, BIGGER score increases
We believe that remote learning shouldn’t just be Plan B, the thing we fall back on when we can’t be together in the same room; done properly, it has huge advantages for parents and students alike. That’s why we’ve been hard at work for the past two years designing an entirely new way to prep, one that combines the benefits of large and small classrooms with the digital curricula and practice-test platforms that can only be created online.
Welcome to the
future present of test prep: three class units, all online, each with a different teaching style and classroom format, all aimed at getting your student the best possible score.

Here's What You Get
UNIT ONE: Math & Vocab
Every student benefits from building a content foundation before taking the ISEE, and that’s where our Unit One classes come in. In 90 minutes each week, students will review essential math content and learn the most important advanced concepts that they may not have seen before in school, then reinforce that material (and expand their vocabulary) through homework.
- Week 1: Fractions, Decimals, Percentages, and Ratios
- Week 2: One-Variable and Two-Variable Algebra
- Week 3: Plane Geometry
- Week 4: Coordinate Geometry
- Week 5: Exponents and Roots
- Week 6: Mean, Median, Mode, and Range
- Week 7: Word Problems
- Week 8: Concept Review
All Unit One classes are led by Nina Abrams, our ISEE math instructor extraordinaire. A former public school teacher, Nina has over 10 years of experience in the classroom working with students in grades 6-8. With her combination of content knowledge and passion for teaching, there’s no one better at making complex concepts seem simple. Just don’t tell her we said that – she’ll never let us hear the end of it.
Our support staff will also be on hand for every session. If you have any technical issues, we’ll help you sort them out and get back to prepping, all while ensuring that not a minute of class time is wasted.
UNIT TWO: Test Strategies
A huge part of maximizing your score on the ISEE is taking advantage of the patterns inherent to the test. In Unit Two, students will learn how to approach each section optimally – no wasted effort, no dropped points.
- Week 1: Introduction to the Test (1 hour)
- Week 2: Key Verbal Strategies (2 hours)
- Week 3: Core Quantitative Techniques (2 hours)
- Week 4: Fundamentals of the Reading Section (2 hours)
After Week 1 teaches students about the mechanics of the test, Weeks 2-4 will focus on techniques for the individual sections. Those last three 2-hour sessions will each be split into two short mini-lessons, with each mini-lesson followed by a 45-minute small-group exploration led by an experienced ISEE tutor. Students will learn the best strategies from the best instructors, then practice applying those strategies alongside their peers.
UNIT THREE: Tutoring & Practice Testing
Once a student has reviewed essential content and learned key strategy, the next step is mastery. In Unit Three, your student will complete a practice test each week for homework, then review the results and fine-tune the techniques in each of six one-on-one sessions.
Each session is scheduled at the day and time of your choosing. The only constant: an expert tutor with years of experience, ready to help your student reach their best possible score.
TI devotes their resources to surveying thousands of test-takers and then crafting curriculum that mirrors what’s showing up on the test as closely as possible. The best materials, taught by the best tutors – the test doesn’t stand a chance.
