Tutor Bio

Tomas has spent the entirety of his adult life working in education, including, but not limited to, summer programs at Yale University, teaching and mentoring at an independent boarding school in Philadelphia, starting a public school in Brooklyn, teaching incarcerated youth in the Bronx, teaching in a Philadelphia Quaker school, leading programs in South Africa, teaching at multiple local universities, and working as a one on one tutor over the course of it all. During his undergrad, Tomas triple majored in Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, and Political Economics, with minors in statistics and business. Afterwards, he continued on to complete his master’s in Mathematics Education.

His teaching and tutoring has included students from all walks of life and more than two dozen countries. At Inspirica, he tutors the SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, GRE, GMAT. LSAT writing, and a variety of mathematics and economics academic courses. His two proudest moments tutoring were helping one of his clients successfully finish his third and final economics course of his M.B.A. at Wharton and helping one his high school students more than double her score on a section of the ACT that she was struggling with.

Outside of his work as an educator, Tomas likes to travel the country racing bikes and exploring the wild. He spends most of his free time restoring his 130-year-old home in Philadelphia, where he lives with his partner and their dog, Holly. It’s not uncommon for him to show up to a tutoring session with the hint of paint freckles across his arms from a day full of renovations
